What is a FSBO?
"FSBO" is an acronym for "For Sale By Owner",
which usually refers to real estate that is for sale directly
by the owner, as opposed to being offered for sale by a real
estate agent.
Why sell real estate as "FSBO"?
Home sellers are motivated to sell their property on their
own because real estate agents typically charge 4-6% of the
final sales price. That's a fee of $12,000 on a $200,000 home!
It's easy to see how it would make sense to spend some time
and money marketing one's own home if the potential savings
are more than $10,000.
While money is probably the biggest motivator for selling
real estate on your own, there are several other reasons why
it makes sense. You are in complete control when you list
your home "fsbo", and when you advertise your home
on FSBO3k, your privacy
is protected more than on any other fsbo advertising service.
What is required to be successful?
It only takes one qualified buyer for any independent home
seller to successfully sell their property on their own. Finding
that one buyer is the most difficult part. Before starting
a "FSBO" campaign, do some homework and lay out
an advertising strategy. Consider the following questions:
- What is my budget?
- Where and how will I get the most exposure to buyers for
my money?
- What's
my home worth?
(setting the right price is a key factor in attracting buyers)
- What is my timeframe for selling?
There are, of course, many other considerations. We invite
you to read our home
selling guide for more tips. When you list
your home for sale on FSBO3k, you will be getting the absolute best value
for your money. Why? Because our program is "pay-for-performance",
which means that we don't charge you a dime unless we send
buyers to you.
